Machining for physical AI and robotics
BELL Machine Works machines fixtures, cable management, cooling hardware and precision guides for robotics and autonomous hardware teams: humanoids, mobile robots, robotic arms and end effectors, autonomous vehicles and the test cells that qualify them. In polycarbonate, Delrin, UHMW, aluminum and copper, at the pace those teams iterate.
Physical AI teams ship a new revision every few weeks, and prototype quantities turn into low-volume production without a clean handoff. The supplier problem isn't tolerance. It's keeping up without losing the thread between rev C and rev F. That is what our shop is built around.
What we machine for robotics and autonomous hardware
Test and assembly fixtures
Fixture plates in clear polycarbonate, where the process has to be visible, and Delrin test fixture guides for electronics testing: non-marring, insulating, dimensionally stable. Assembly nests for actuators, sensor modules and end effectors, and test cell tooling that holds a joint or a full assembly through qualification.
Liquid cooling hardware
Pipe clamp halves and flow distribution plates in Delrin for liquid-cooled compute, GPU and actuator hardware, on the robot and in the racks that train it. Saddle contours matched to tube OD; halves machined as pairs so they close square. One such job ran to ±0.010" on a five-day rush against our two-week standard.
Cable management
Cable clamps, cable saddles and tube raceway brackets in polycarbonate and Delrin for humanoid and mobile robot harnesses, autonomous vehicle sensor looms and actuator wiring, in left and right, top and bottom pairs.
Wear, guide and mounting components
UHMW wear blocks and guide plates and bronze guides for moving assemblies, joints, linear axes and grippers: low-friction, self-lubricating surfaces. Copper mounting brackets and thermal baseplates where conductivity decides the design.
Why teams stay
Revisions don't restart the clock. Send a drawing change mid-job and paperless revision control pushes it to the floor as a controlled update against the live job: digital travelers update, quality records follow the new rev, and your schedule absorbs the change instead of restarting behind work quoted after yours.
No minimum order. One piece at the breadboard stage, a production lot when it matures: same shop, same machines, same job numbers.
Two weeks standard, 24 hours when it has to be. Same tolerance, same inspection, same paperwork either way.
